Copy Cat

I like creative people and all their great ideas.

I copied this idea.

Take a jar, any size or shape
The one I used is a  large pickle jar
Choose your color. (craft paint)
Put paint in jar and swirl it around until coated
Tip upside down to get the excess paint out
  Let Dry.

I added a little vintage trim

and the last of  my peonies

This jar will make a great outdoor vase for my picnic table.
Perfect for the flowers cut from the garden and yard.

and if the grand kids break it, I'll just make another one
no worries

This summer I want to take the advice of the rock
 and do more of it.

"S" is for

 sun
 swim
 swing

and my last name.

oh yes, and sit
I am going to do more of that too

the "S" is made from oil cloth,
and filled with a little stuffing

little red wagon

For many years, my little red wagon has been pulled around,  filled with children, our dog Tucker, toys, gardening tools and flowers.
.
It is starting to show it's age,
much like the person who does the pulling.

Dings, dents and lots of rust spots.

star of the show

My little granddaughter Audrey had her dance recital last saturday.
Along with her classmates they danced and twirled on stage in their darling pink costumes.
Showing everyone their newly acquired dancing skills.

But dancing wasn't Audrey's only skill,
she showed everyone her other skill,
her nose picking skill.

For a 3 1/2 year old it's hard to do 2 things at once.

She would dance...stop...pick...
twirl...stop...pick...
leap...stop...pick...

She definitely stole the show!

After a performance like that every dancer deserves flowers.
I made her a bouquet out of yellow carnations, pink tissue paper, with a dancing ballerina on top.

that kind of day

if I had a clothes line outside
I would hang my laundry on it

it's just that kind of day

Portrait Practice

My homework assignment this week for my photography class is to take a portrait.
We were taught the basics of taking a portrait.  Our class was advised not to use children as we were practicing because they tend to have a hard time sitting still.   I apparently don't listen .
Before my grandchildren arrived, I practiced with the duck. He sat still, and looked at the camera when I told him to, he was my most obedient subject.

Portraits should tell a story.
Our little Jack loves chocolate cake.

This portrait subject, our darling Audrey was determined not to look at the camera.

Singing a round of head shoulders knees and toes, trying to get the wiggles out.

She is 3, what do I expect?

One more try tomorrow with my dear friend Sue.
I don't think she will be so wiggly
