Shades of Green

In spring time the blossoms on my snowball bush turn beautiful shades of green before they are finally white.

I try to leave a few on the bush but I find myself cutting most of  them to bring indoors.

I used them in decorating for a wedding shower that I had recently.

Perfect centerpiece for the table on the back porch

and the front room too.

Speaking of green,   just finished this 12 x 12 chevron pattern for a pillow top.  Ready to be sent to the quilter.

"Bonus Gift"

For Christmas my mother- in -law would always buy us perfume and with that purchase came the "Bonus Gift."   This was always a much anticipated and loved gift.

This Sunday is my turn to teach the laurel class.
The lesson is on keeping our promises and covenants that we have made with the Lord.

I have been thinking of something the girls could relate to and thought of the "Bonus Gift."

What is required of us to receive the "Bonus Gift from the Lord?
"Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love." (D&C 6:20)

I made each girl their own "Bonus Gift" filled with small treats and treasures.

Spring cleaning

Last fall my intentions were to clean the inside of the garage
winter came and I still  intended to do the same
it is now spring...
and with this season comes something called spring cleaning
no wonder I didn't do it in fall or winter, it was the wrong season.

procrastination...something I do well

temporary home

I have heard them talking to each other, or should I say chirping.
Choosing the perfect spot for their temporary home.

Little birdy wife: " Look, what about here! The lady who lives here must like birds.
She has a woodpecker door knocker and a blue bird on her door!
 She won't mind.
Go get some more sticks."
Little birdy husband: " Yes dear, whatever you say dear."

EXCUSE me little birds as I TRY to go in and out my front door.....
It's my home, your the guest... remember?

Our leader

Judy was the leader of our gang of cousins. She was the oldest.
 We all loved her.
We wanted to do everything she did.
We followed her around as if we were in a parade.
It was Judy this and Judy that.
 Judy, Judy, Judy.
 .

The leader of our gang is Hannah.  She is our oldest granddaughter.
She is our Judy.

Happy 9th Birthday to the leader of our gang!

Just Farming

Me: " I want a goat. We have plenty of room in the back yard.  The grand-kids would love it!"
My hubby:  No comment, just gives me the look.

Me:  "Bunnies are so sweet.  Let's get one.  We could make a cage for it and then let it out to hop around when the grand-kids come."
My Hubby: just gives me the look, again.

Me:  "Oh, I really want a duck. Let's get a baby duck.  We can train it to just follow us around!  The grand-kids could name it, wouldn't that be fun?"
My Hubby: really gives me the  look, double the normal look.

I will just continue to make my own little farm animals...
for the grand-kids
minus the look.

Irish Chain

Just finished this irish chain quilt.
Reminds me of  a summer picnic.

75 degrees outside, bare-feet, and an afternoon snack of mini pancakes,
makes for a fun day at grandmas.
