I was weeding the few strawberry plants I have today, checking to see if they might be producing some fruit, when I received a phone call.
It was my daughter-in-law, telling me that they were loading the kids in the van and heading to the emergency room. I could hardly hear her what she was saying because of my grandson crying, or should I say HOWLING!
He had just glued his eye shut with gorilla glue, yes, you read it right, he glued his eye shut with gorilla glue! He and his twin sister thought that hiding behind the couch and using the glue as eye drops would be something new to try..
This happened around noon today, it is now 9:00 p.m. and his eye is still glued shut.
The doctor said to put the ointment on every hour and hopefully within 24 hours it would open... WHAT!
Logan doesn't seem to be too effected by it. Last week, he unscrewed his training wheels and taught himself how to ride a 2 wheel bike. Today, he can ride just as fast with one eye glued shut!
With his "partner in crime" at the emergency room.
I'm sorry..maybe I shouldn't laugh but this picture...he looks like a sad little pirate or something! What a guy...a story to tell all his life! Come say hi sometime :D
ReplyDeleteHonestly...I can't help but laugh! I know it's not funny, but I just visualize the two of them behind the couch...thinking this was a good idea!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those moments that you want to shake your child and say "What in the world were you thinking?!" But of course you don't ask because you already know the answer . . . they weren't thinking.
ReplyDeletePoor Logan. Now Gorilla Glue will have to add "do not use in eyes" on the warning label leading users to wonder what in the world elicited THAT warning!
Oh my! I'm sick to think about it. I don't know if it will be funny for a while. My grandkids drank the nector out of the hummingbird feeder last week and I thought that was pretty bad. I don't even want to think about this. Hope it comes unglued soon. My husband is a twin . What one of them couldn't think, up the other one could. Their mother had lots of stories to tell!
ReplyDeleteOh that is too funny. The joys of boys. One of mine super glued his hands together once. (Kept him out of stuff for a bit). I bet his mom came completely unglued. Hee Hee. Hope it gets unstuck soon. Janis
ReplyDeleteOh no. Poor guy. I hope he mends well.

ReplyDeleteOh my word! That is awful. Poor buddy.
ReplyDeleteThe imagination of kids! Good thing Logan & Gracie are so cute...you can't stay mad at them for too long! This will be a great tale to tell when he is much older.
That's so funny. I can't stop grinning. I would do the exact thing. Hope you feel better Logan.
ReplyDeleteI saw him last night when Tif was taking a walk. Poor kid. Didn't seem to slow him down though. I thought about making him a pirates eye patch. Sooo glad it was not more serious. Mimi
ReplyDeleteI hate to tell you that I laughed out loud, but I did. This is likely because I am not this dear child's mum. As a grandma, I laugh a lot at things I would not laugh at as a mom. Yesterday, I received a panicked phone call that the grandbaby had taken off her diaper, had both hands full of poop and was using it as hair gel, dusting polish and, apparently, paint. My daughter shared that she freaked out, grabbed the baby and headed to the shower. The baby peed all the way across the livingroom and into the bathroom. I howled then went and picked up the baby so mom could recover and clean. The baby was a riot all day and into everything. They learn so quickly...at ten months, she is her grandmother's grand-daughter personality, trouble and all! Ha! ~Kelly
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. My mom told me about this story and I just had to check it out. Although, I am comforted a little knowing that my children aren't the only crazy, adventurous kids. Remember last summer? Oh my goodness. I will probably never forget. Wish I could have seen you this Summer. Maybe next time. Love ya.
