A morning of making Rapunzel hair and playing with grandmas cookie cutters and homemade play dough makes for a tired little girl... or should I say princess.

The Dresden plate quilt is a classic.

  Quilters have been making it for many many years and is still a favorite.

I loved making this.  In my favorite colors, of course.

My home is quiet now. Children raised and now raising families of their own.

As a mother, in the midst of those child rearing years,  I remember wishing I had an extra set of hands.

I wondered how I would meet everyone's needs.

 I often found myself saying to them, "Just get in line with everyone else, and I'll get to you when I can!"

Flower Garland

Who doesn't love pinterest? 

 I made this garland for my sewing room after seeing it on my sister-in-laws pinterest board.

First I free-handed a template. 

  Traced 4 petals per flower out of woolfelt. Basted petals.
  (notice placement of needle, and stitches if you are going to try this)

and carefully gathered.

I ran the needle once more through the gathered petals.

A good match with my chair and rug... just a punch of color to my room.
( I know what you're thinking... a green flower? yea, I haven't seen one either)

makes a cute shamrock too!  (minus one petal)

This little birdy flew home with me from arizona last month.
 He's perched on my kitchen window sill and just makes me smile.

The name of this quilt pattern  is a contrast from the cloudy, wet day that it is today.
It is called SUNNY DAYS!
