Counting our blessings

My daughter and I sat in the surgery waiting room today, feeling anxious about leaving our little Hannah, in the care of the Dr. and nurses.

We couldn't help notice the team of  Drs. who came into the waiting room and approach  a young woman who was sitting alone.

" Your baby boy is very sick," the Dr. said. " The next two days are critical and we are not sure that he will survive".  And with those words the team left almost as quickly as they came leaving this young mother uncontrollably crying.

Another mother waiting for her daughter and I quickly went to her side offering whatever comfort that we could.

We are counting our blessings today that our Hannah is home resting comfortably, minus her tonsils.

...remembering this mother and her child in my prayers tonight

  1. No matter how routine the procedure, it's always heart-wrenching to have a child in the hospital. So glad to hear Hannah's doing well and what miraculous timing that you were able to offer another mother your comfort. What a blessing!

  3. Glad to hear your sweet daughter is home....two Doctors did that to my Dad...they came out told him my Mom was full of cancer and wouldn't make it thru the night, luckily my brother was on a pay phone a few steps away and grabbed him before he hit the floor....Bedside Manner should be a course they all get taught.!
