Circus Morning Thoughts and Things: This mornings activities brought back a flood of memories. Jack has been waiting his turn to sleep over. Even thought it was a school night his mother agreed, so he and his sister stayed the night.
I forgot how hard it is to pull them away from cartoons to get them dressed. Then finally helping put each pant leg on as they stare at the T.V.
I forgot how many variety of breakfast foods you prepare just to get something in their bellies,
and how many times you tell them that eating a good breakfast is important to their learning.
I forgot how picky girls are about their hair. Since when do they not like ribbons?
I forgot that it is important to teach them to make their beds...who has time for that?
I forgot the sense of accomplishment and gladness as you send them out the door.
I forgot to brush Jacks teeth!
I loved this post.
ReplyDeleteThe hours before school ARE the most hectic of the day...oh, unless you count the hour after school and the hour (or two) at bedtime.
What a nice grandma to allow a sleepover on a school day. You are the best!
I'd LIKE to be a grandma! I have not forgotten all of those wonderful things since we were blessed with a BONUS BABY at the age of 41! However, it seems so much harder now. I do know why we are supposed to have children when we are younger! I don't know what we would do without her....and I am certain the Lord has a great sense of humor!
ReplyDelete...and a wonderful Grandma you are.
ReplyDeleteLove Em

ReplyDeleteThat was really sweet. I had to stop by when I seen your blog on 'The Garden Bell'. Afterall, we 'Joy's' have to stick together... Will take a look around--I see lots of bright colors and pretty things---I'm a granny too. (You look waaaaaaay too young to be a granny!)
