It was a very good year
Thoughts and Things: Another year coming to a close.
Hard to believe.
Time seems to pass so quickly.
The good certainly outweighed the bad in 09.
Lessons learned, memories made and good health had.
Love of family and friends.
Feeling overwhelmingly blessed.

Having a nice dinner with dear friends to celebrate the new year. I sure hope I can stay awake until midnight.

When my children were young ,they loved new years eve and all its festivities, but it was hard for them to stay up that late since they always were usually in bed by around 8:30. They would watch the clock, waiting for the stroke of midnight so that they could go out on the porch scream, yell and bang pans. One year I could see they were fading fast trying to stay awake, so when they weren't looking I turned the clock forward to midnight! They were proud of themselves that they had stayed up so late! I did that for the next couple of years until they caught on.

Could someone turn the clock ahead for me tonight?

Youth is when you are allowed to stay up late on New year's Eve.
Middle age is when you are forced to.

  4. We all tried to make it to midnite, and we did, but just barely. My husband was out like a light and we were all in bed right after the stroke of midnite. Sure is hard to stay up when you are use to a regular bedtime routine. Of course, with the past two weeks off, I am getting better at it. :) But back to reality come Monday morning. Happy New Year.
