Speaking of chickens
Thoughts: Spending the day at grandma's often involves a trip to McDonalds for lunch.

I had a hard time not staring at the man, woman and young son seated in the booth next to us.

Their order consisted of 6 boxes of chicken nuggets, one french fry, 2 apple pies and 2 large drinks

6 boxes of nuggets... that's 60 nuggets!

As they systematically dipped and devoured each nugget in the various sauces they had carefully lined up, I knew they had done this before!

I have eaten my fair share of nuggets over the years... but seriously!

I walked up to their table and politely excused my interruption, and asked them if I could have one of their empty boxes.

Now this is something to blog about!

A day inside
Thoughts: Just when I thought I had escaped winter sickness, I thought too soon! Strep throat was the lab results.

It seems to be running it's course through the family. That's what I get for drinking a cherry coke and sharing it with my grandkids. Should be better in no time though...

A good excuse to stay in my pajamas all day.

Bored with laying on the couch, I grabbed my box of kleenex, a cold drink and plopped myself in front of my sewing machine.

Still working on making some little chicks to fill a basket for easter. These baby chicks began to multiply! That is what happens when you have 2 daughters, and 1 daughter-in-law. I try to make enough for everyone.

Things: Baby Chicks

Small fabric scraps work great! I just freehanded the little pattern. Just by looking at them, you could do the same. Wool, woolfelt, or felt can be used for the beek, tail, and eye. Can't wait for them to be part of my easter decorations!

Red Wednesday

Things: Bright and cheery red polka dot melamine plates

Thoughts: With the sun shining today, I just had to get out and soak it up. The snow has finally melted for now. I have been anxious to sweep the gutters in front of my home. With my broom, dust pan and bucket, I whistled while I worked. Enjoying my nice clean gutters.

Chocolate Bunny Penny Rug Thoughts: One of the first signs of the next holiday is at your local grocery store. The candy isle.
Once one holiday is over, the next holiday candy appears. I of course, have already polished off one bag of cadbury eggs and am on to the next. I buy and eat my fair share of holiday goodies long before the actual holiday arrives!

Things: This chocolate bunny penny rug seemed appropriate to work on as I was nibbling on the chocolate eggs.
For those of you who live close by, I am offering a class at my home to make this for yourself.
Wednesday March 10th
6:oo p.m.
The pattern and all supplies will be provided for $20.00.
It will be a fun night to get together as friends.

Please leave a comment if you are interested.

Circus Morning Thoughts and Things: This mornings activities brought back a flood of memories. Jack has been waiting his turn to sleep over. Even thought it was a school night his mother agreed, so he and his sister stayed the night.

I forgot how hard it is to wake up sleepy kids.
I forgot how hard it is to pull them away from cartoons to get them dressed. Then finally helping put each pant leg on as they stare at the T.V.
I forgot how many variety of breakfast foods you prepare just to get something in their bellies,
and how many times you tell them that eating a good breakfast is important to their learning.
I forgot how picky girls are about their hair. Since when do they not like ribbons?
I forgot that it is important to teach them to make their beds...who has time for that?
I forgot the sense of accomplishment and gladness as you send them out the door.
I forgot to brush Jacks teeth!

I do remember how much I like being a grandma.

Monday Quilt DayThoughts and Things: This quilt is still in pieces. Just finishing up the appliqued flowers and leaves. The stems are made by using a bias seam maker, it's a nifty sewing toy, then sewn on with invisible thread.

Working on the flowers gives me hope for spring and has me dreaming of what to plant in my flower garden.

Happy Presidents Day too!

He's my Valentine Thoughts: I carefully picked the perfect card for my valentine.
My hubby does not like to get presents on valentines. (I did some tie shopping though, he loves ties.)
He says valentines day is for girls.
He always spoils me on valentines day.
Actually, every day seems like valentines day, being married to him.
How could I be so lucky.
He'll always be my valentine.

For my little valentines
Thoughts and Things: I made my little granddaughters a valentine broach to wear to church on sunday. What little girl doesn't like pink, red and sparkles.

With a little experimenting, I figured out the best way to do them. Maybe the instructions are something I can pass along to you in an upcoming post.
